Shared Home Learning

Tommy has been hard at work this week following our timetable. He has played music with his instruments, he has been on a Minibeast hunt and he has even done some writing about spiders. What a busy week you've had, keep up the excellent work!

"Meet Link from Zelda. He's pictured here in front of Death Mountain Volcano having just defeated the Divine Beast, RaRudania. Complete with facial scar." Wow, Matthew. It looks like Link has saved the day. What a brave egg you've created!

"Unfortunately we were short of real eggs this year and so Holly decided to cut out and decorate a cardboard egg family and pop them in her dolls house for a pose." What a wonderful idea, Holly! It looks very exciting in there.

"Stay safe." A joint effort of a lovely setting by Eve, Isabelle and their mum.

Take a look at Dylan's creation. I wouldn't dare to put my hand in there, with such a terrifying dinosaur guarding it's eggs!

"Candy Land." It looks good enough to eat. How creative, Cherry!

Decorated without any support! Looks amazing, Ashton. Well done!

P.E

The children have taken a keen interest in football over the last few weeks. Today, we spent some time learning the basic skills of football, such as: dribbling, trapping and passing.

Art/Science

This afternoon, we went outside to water the plants in our nature area. After this, we each took a clipboard, pencil and paper and did a still drawing of some flowers. We then coloured in our drawings and labelled parts of our plant.

PE

Join us every day at 9AM with Joe Wicks' live stream PE session on YouTube. Here we are working up a sweat!

Wednesday 1st April 2020

Geography

This afternoon, the children went outside to complete an orienteering task. They had to work together using a map to find clues and lettered cones which made a word. Together, we put the lettered cones together to make the word, 'rainbow'. Once the children had finished, they were given an extra challenge. They had to see how many other words they could make out of the word, 'rainbow'. Take a look at how well they did.

Art

Today, the children began to decorate their butterflies. Some children also worked very hard to ensure their work was symmetrical.

Tuesday 31st March 2020

Art

Our outdoor NHS display has been recognised by a local NHS worker. They asked if the children could create some small scale rainbows for her hospital ward to spread some cheer and joy among the staff and patients there. Of course, we were happy to oblige!

Tuesday 31st March 2020

Gardening

Take a look at our amazing Bug Hotel. We went outdoors and gathered some more sticks to add to the Hotel. We even had a look at what guests we had staying there.

Tuesday 31st March 2020

Art

Today, we molded clay into butterflies. We wanted to do this to create a display for our school, to celebrate the community spirit and remember the fun things we did during this time. Tomorrow, when they are dry, we will be decorating our beautiful creations.

Story time

Ahoy, me' hearties. At home time, the children chose a couple of pirate stories to link with our topic. They were amazed by Mr Elvin's pirate voice!

Monday 30th March

Topic

Last week, the children had discussed what they would like to learn about in their topic lessons over the next few weeks. Collectively, they chose 'oceans'. Today, we looked at what creatures we would find in the sea. We also discovered which creatures live in cold and hot seas. Afterwards, we painted our very own ocean and then we tinted and shaded our colours to add tone. Our KS2 children wrote a fact file about their chosen sea creature.
